Finally decided to go for a few modifications. :evil:

Forge DV
Switchable APR Remap through the cruise stalk.
Carbonio - I will have to see how this goes as Awesome say they haven't fitted one before, but don't see why it shouldn't.

Also looking into:-
Big brake kit - 352mm disc stoppers with 6 pot Porsche monoblock calipers and pads and stainless steel brake lines.
May uprate the ARB's, but with the hundreds of speedbumps into town and the fact that my car only just clears on the drive, I doubt I will go for any lowering of the suspension. :sad:

I think it might just need the brakes when it is remapped. :evil:

I'll try and get it on the RR as well to get a before and after.

I will also take my camera :cool:

Insurance will be up :sad:, but not by too much :smiley:

Forge DV is a must for a remap. Carbonio is easy to fit but you do need a spacer on each of the bolts that attach to the slam panel. I did mine with rubber gromits around the bolts, cuts out the chance of any vibration and rattles coming from it.

Sound is great, I get a nice mechanical sounding induction roar under load and a nice burble under normal driving conditions, drive with the window down to get the full effect.
Performance wise I have noticed a sharper throttle and the revs build quicker but I did have a full Milltek and Forge DV fitted at the same time  :smiley:

I'd love to get the ED30 full system, but I still haven't heard anything from Milltek :cry:

Can't see why its taking so long, That engine has been around for long enough now. The plumbing is pretty straightforward so maybe its an emission issue with the hi-flo cat.

is the Carbonio  just for the mk5 or fine for e30... it is something i have been considering!! so look fwd to your opinion

WHy is DV a must on E30?  :sad: I mean, I understand it was placed badly on GTI, but on E30 they change its location....  :sad:
I mean, if DV is so important, why big tuning firms (Oettinger, MTM, BB, REVO) do not offer any changes?

Its fine for the ED30 to as its the same engine, you just have a bigger turbo than me :sad:

True the ED30 DV doesn't suffer from the same heat induced problems as my car, but the Forge item is such a well made product. When I took the OEM one off my car and looked at them both together I couldn't believe VAG would fit such a poor item. If I had an ED30 I would do it simply from a safety point of view, as there is quite a lot more pressure being put into the system from the remap. Plus it holds the boost more efficiently.

I dread to think what damage would be done to the turbo if it stalled at 150000rpm
