Can you add another "play list" into a "play list" or a folder into a folder? rather than having five folders with 99 songs ?

I've just had the Ipod adapter cable fitted and am running my all powerfull 160gb classic ipod with it - because of the ton of free memory i've got banging around i've made my 1-5 playlists 200-500 songs each - are you saying that it can only handle 99 songs each before it changes CD or playlist?

I usually just press "mix" on each playlist and let it go, but i am pretty sure it plays from the full 500 songs. When i do this the track no's start at 1 and count up - i've never actually driven continously for over 99 tracks but thinking about it i will skip forward to the 99th song on the way home tonight to see how the HU handles the dreaded 100th song.....

The lack of artist/track name on the display is a right git!

Cheers

No, you definitely can play more than 99 tracks. It is just that when you get to track 100 the head unit makes it look like you are back at track 1

With a 160gb IPOD you are underusing it by having a standard head unit. The VW IPOD prep is pants and the dealer more or less avoided any questions I asked him about it when I think back. However that is all in the past and I have a Decent aftermarket Head unit now that does what I want it to with the IPOD :smug:

I think it will only play 99 songs from a playlist, although I have never tried as my playlists don't have that many songs!!
I like to listen to full albums so I just remove my Ipod (80gig classic), choose the album and re-insert! Not ideal but its really not that much effort
Its a great bit of kit imo, especially as I can remember the days when I used to use the old 'cassette with a wire' to play my cds through my portable CD walkman in the car!! Used to have it installed on the top of the dash on 'springs' to help cushion it from bumps in the road... them were the days.. :embarassed:

seems as we are going down a very similar modding route pal, what head unit have you chosen, as much detail as possible would be nice, why did you choose that one?, price?, ease of fitting etc.... cheers

Kenwood DNX7200
Video IPOD cable
Bluetooth
Reverse camera
Component Hertz "Hi energy" speakers up front
Coax Hertz "Hi energy" speakers in the rear (disconnected tweeters as they were )
10" Hertz "Hi energy" sub in the boot
Audiobahn 4 way amp with crossover powering the front speakers and the sub.
Plenty of Dynomat in the doors :nerd:

Makes a lovely sound. 10" sub not too "boomy" as I like classical music and like it to be good quality rather than loud
