What you should have done is swap your original speedo section with the new one, retaining your original mileage.
I made a hybrid of a 16v 160mph speedo and an 8v rev counter, so i know it can be done.
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Looks nice mate. Was it hard to wire it up? Did you need to bodge any connections to get the rev counter working?

Offtopic: did you have to get an adapter for your head unit?

no need to cut any wires or anything like that mate, unplug the back of the VDO and the pin at the bottom and switch them over, the hardest part is getting the VDO clip out because of the lack of space :)

The head unit im not to sure about as i got fitted at the place i bought it

Fooking hell, you have done some milage, nearly 20k in a year an a bit.
