300bhp R32
« on: 22 November 2007, 19:58 »
Just been perusing the classifieds in the VW Driver magazine

APS's R300, 300bhp weapon is still for sale and it is now at £19k

Silver (the fastest colour )
5 door
Manual
15K miles
Recaro's
Brand new Michelin PS2's
KW variant 3 suspension
19" BBS CH alloys
Milltek cat back exhaust
Schrick cams
APS remap
Haldex race controller (lets you play with the front to rear drive settings )

The car was featured in October 06 VW Driver mag (which I have :nerd:) and I have just read through it again. The redline has been altered to 7200rpm and it gives 300bhp at 7000rpm and 270lb/ft at 5400rpm.

The feature also says it has had a free flow panel filter and mods to the airbox baffling. The suspension is lowered 45mm up front and 35mm at the rear. Short-shift gear lever conversion.

Anyone tempted?

There's quite a few Mk5 R32's for sale at the moment and it's a quiet time of year for car sales. Also the engine size taxation isn't helping .

I guess that if I was looking for a Mk5 .:R it would be very tempting - All the mods done and at a good price. The Mk5 GTI's and R32's are still too new to be attractive as modded - People who can afford such cars in the UK aren't so inclined to mod, or want them modded.

....As far as I'm concerned a 5-door is far more practical (my previous car was a 2-door BMW), but I will always want DSG or an equivalent like new Mitsu EVO X system.
