A crucial thing to check is the water pump. Many models featured a plastic part inside which eventually breaks off.
If that happens, and you're not on the ball, it can cause big problems as the engine will overheat and major damage could be caused.
Otherwise, it's the usual raft of sensor issues...you'll find that on most modern cars once they hit a certain age.
I'd say let the car speak for itself, if there's a good history with it, the car is tidy and the owner not a complete tool then it's likely to be alright.
