intercooler
« on: 15 March 2004, 19:53 »
i drive a 1.8T and have brought a front mount intercooler which i was thinking of running in line with my original. i was chatting to the man who supplied it and he said that i may have to do somthing with the mixture if i run both at once. is this the case? also i was thinking of rigging up a cold water feed to spray the i/c when im giving it a bit, is it any good an idea or is it just a gimic..
any help would be great thanks.....

If the front mount intercooler is a nice big one, I don't see any advantage leaving the smaller and more restrictive one in .You won't need cold water spray unless you are running big boost.

As steve said as long as the intercooler you intend fitting is flowing more air capicity than the one you have at present then you'll be ok.

Also make sure that your not gonna hinder the airflow to the rad.
