1J6 853 630 A/B Its a vw badge, does anyone know if it will fit the mk5 front?

Dont know if this helps but my mate bought a front & rear black badge for his mk5 golf and they both would not fit .

....The Mk5 stock VW front grill 'chromed' badge is 1T0 853 601. None of those numbers refer to dimensions.
