Three year contract from end April 2006.
Wish I'd taken the two year option.

not happy with yours?

No, not particularly

Previously had a Leon Cupra 180bhp - absolutely fantastic for £15k - and initially expectations were fairly low, but I was very happy to be proved wrong. Sure, there were problems along the way, but at fifteen grand you make allowances, don't you ? I kept it for an additional twelve months beyond the contract, because I couldn't find anything that took my fancy - that includes driving the GTI, which I felt was really only more of the same, although it definitely handled better - and the WRX (the handling of which knocked the GTI into a cocked hat, by the way).

So I plumped for the Golf, because I needed a new car. At nearly £23k   with the few bits I added. Sure, the Golf handles better, and the DSG is a hoot (most of the time). But, you know what? I just can't be bothered with it anymore. The rattly speaker cards. The rattly dash. The unexpected DSG changedown and maximum revs at  low-speed sharp corners. The rear wash-wipe coming on all on it's own. The 75mph clank. The awful "Is that a diesel, mate?" idle noise.
From a car at this price level, that's atrocious.

So, at more than 50% more money than the SEAT, you might say the Golf has proved to be a very disappointing vehicle to run.

Hope that answers your question

yep, I think you are ripe for something different, BMW 335 maybe, or Audi A4 (new model), a MB even.
