I wouldn't really say the golf vr is common.
I must admit i would have bought the corrado, but it doesn't really suit family life  :)
Golf vr6 is a pretty good alternative  :D

Do you have a late model Golf vr6, as belive some of them and the highlines have a better management system on them, givin them better bhp as standard but dont belive vw advertised this.

I agree totally that a golf is much more practical for family use.

Its a 95M, its got the later OBD2 port so i don't know if the ECU is any different.
It does go like sh!t off a shovel, especially since the last 10k, the engine has done nearly 80k and is really loosening up.

So, afterall that discussion, we have decided.

9 - 10secs isnt slow .. therefore the 8v isnt slow.  8)

Ok

The Gti mk3 is a wicked car, loads of torque is great fun to drive even if a little lacking against other 2.0's. But build quality looks and general sexiness is All good. If 8v owners wanted a fast car they'd by a nova with a 2.0 engine. End of story. Or a renault friggin 5.

Get over it, GTi's are lovely cars : reliable fun, and modern enough to get by without being branded as a banger driver.
