ED30 recall
« on: 12 November 2007, 19:58 »

Hi All

Called my stealer to find out my CD player code (I sold it on Ebay and put in a nav unit). I was informed that my car has an outstanding recall which is something to do with the ecu. I think it's just a software update but I'll find out tomorrow. The car is Aug07 so very new. I'll post my findings but I reckon all ED30 owners should call and see if their car needs the same recall attended to.

Cheers

Hmmm, might have to pay my dealer a visit and find out what it is all about :undecided:

When my car is running as sweet as it is at the moment I am always a bit reticent about having ANYTHING done at the dealers.

Maybe the recall has something to do with your excellent MPG

its for all GTIs, not sure which model years, my 56 plate GTI had the engine management upgrade (recall) when it was serviced in September.  no big deal.  :nerd:

Recall was for an ECU update. My GTI had it done when it went in for a service 6 weeks ago

False alarm and waste of time. They plugged it into their computer (as that's all they ever seem to do) and told me it didn't need the upgrade after all.

The mechanic reckons it may only be GTIs not ED30s.

Glad I changed mine.
