Plz help what engine have I got k-jet or digi.

Hello people I am wondering what engine I have. The car is GTI 8V E reg 1987 model. Any one got any pic of the two different engines or any advice to help me out cheers guys and girls.

It has air filter box in black on the right hand-side if looking from front of car to back. I heard that this can help identify the engine but don't know how thanks.

If it has a load of braided fuel lines coming out of the air box ad into the head then it's a K-Jet, if not it's a Digifant. 87 E reg could well be either as this is around when they changed. My old White MKII was a cross over model and was a bit of mismatch of parts, was a nightmare when I tried to get bits as GSF wouldn't believe it was digi!

I cannot see no fuel lines, but there are tubes that I think are air tubes, but no other tubes that I can see just them. What would ya say then.

Yup I agree if there is one long tube to the engine and a short one from the top of the airbox to the bottom it's a digi.

Cheers lads just one big black air pipe and little air tubes from what I see no braided pipes or tubes, new to this car so am a bit lost.
