I have found that mine happens when between 0-5 mph as the dsg insists on keeping my car in 2nd gear.  If I manually change down to 1st, the kangeroo effect stops.  Is this normal?

Still not normal Illyun. Mine has absolutely no kangaroo effect in any mode at all!

No reply yet. But I sent it last night and it is Friday which in Stealer terms is just as good as Sunday. Will let you guys know when the reply comes through.

Just booked it in with VW Wolsey Ipswich for next Wednesday.  They offered to take it in or have an initial drive about with the Master Tech - I opted for the latter purely because I can show him exactly what the effect is and also don't want it driven when I am not around    otherwise I might come back to a car with 2 bald front tyres and an average mpg of 4 over 20 miles

Ironic really.  After 3 previous Mk5s - one of each, a GTI, an R32 and an Ed30 - all of which did not have any problems, I settle on this car and I have a potential DSG fault and rattles from the centre console - sounds like leaves or something stuck in the air passage and wind noise at about 30-50mph from the door mirrors   Really annoying.

illyun, I'm the same as you, settle on the ED30 and get this issue, I took mine to my local stealer who plugged it in to their comp system, 'no fault found'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yet still does it and dealer insist this is probably normal?????? Let us know what your dealer says on Weds please and I'll book mine in for a second opinion elsewhere,

I love this car, well and truely brilliant, well except for this tiny issue!

I only get kangarooing when starting from standstill up a steep incline; its not too bad and would expect that to happen as the clutch is engaged.  Apart from that nothing.  Only problem i've had with the dsg was selecting the full manual mode - would get all warning lights showing on the dash and loose all power.  Thankfully, this has now been fixed by a replacement "tiptronic ecu."  I would get it double checked if its particularly bad.

Well, I've been out today and deliberately done some different set offs.

Incline in manual,sport and drive
Decline in manual, sport and drive
on the flat in manual, sport and drive

Done both hard set offs and normal set offs of all the above.

Still cannot induce ANY kangarooing. It's not as if I can't recognise it as I had the kangaroo map in my last Golf TDI DSG.

So either there is something wrong with mine and I need to have the internal kangaroo remap fitted or there is something wrong with those that kangaroo....and I know what my money is on!
