I still feel that a chipped Ed30 is faster than a R32

Oh it DEFINITELY will be. Mine as standard has been on the QTR mile and had 0-60 and 1/4 mile times faster than an R32...even in the wet

I'm still waiting to hear of times of someone in a tuned ED30 (DSG preferrably) down a 1/4 mile

Anyway I know I wanted the R32 but chose the ED30 for sensible reasons !

so yeah lifes too short , go for it  if you want.

Unless you go for a second hand ED30 I wouldn't have thought that you would get any cashback off trading in your R32 even though it has a high spec. :undecided:

Have you done any enquiries yet?

And dont forget to change your username to DannyBoyGTI

If you can get a Ed30 that would probably be perfect. Wouldnt going to a GTI be a bit er... Sluggish compared to the R32? Illyun?

I get the feeling i could do with a better specc'd car too, everytime i see a GTI with xenons it just like bursts my bubble that i dont have some  Not to fussed about the leather as the tartan thingi looks quite boy racer (not that i am) but maybe leather is for a bit more...mature people. Other things like the highline and multi function steering wheel too. Every time i see a golf with xenons, multifunction and highline the bubble goes pop....

I saw the full leather interior, and to be honest, I thought the standard ED30 seats looked nicer - probably more practical too.

And anyway, isn't the VW 'full leather' nothing of the kind? (Just part leather, part leather-effect). There are some great companies out there doing full leather upholstery for your car (to your exact spec) for much less than the VW leather option cost, so you could always leave the seats until you get the car, and if you don't like them after a while, then get the interior done out properly by one of these companies
