ED 30 seats

Do people like them?

I saw an ED30 in the dealer's Monday and the seats don't look good IMO. Can you get them in pure leather on the ED30?

I'm just playing devil's advocate.

Hated the photos I had seen of the Ed30 seats and seriously considered not buying due to them, saw them in the flesh though and thought they looked 100 times better. Grown to love them now.

Kind of a love hate thing though I think IMO

I like them but how are they different from the standard car? Apart from the 1/2 leather of course.

Ed30 seats don't differ too much to the standard GTI ones. You simply get double red stitching, leather side bolsters, electric lumbar support adjustment and heated seats... on both driver and passenger sides.

I agree that they are a bit of a Marmite part of the cars' specification, but I for one get the whole evolution thing with the tartan style material and love it. I had full leather in my last MKV golf and prefer the material centre as it isn't as slippy, nor is it clammy in winter and burn your back hot in summer like the leather was. Having said that I would have preferred VW to go the full hog and given the ED30 half leather Recaro's

lol. I didnt like them at first. From the pictures I had seen. But then I realised the South African Polo comes with tartan seats and I began to love them

I bought an ED30 for the S3 engine , fiancee loved the seats , I wasnt sure at first.
But now after owning for a week! I think they really work to lighten the interior (esp on black car).
Given that the VW leather aint of the best quality, I also think its looks better than full leather which I saw on several demonstrators I tried (std GTI)
Personal choice , but I love them
First time for heated seats and they are

as Hurdy says 1/2 leather recaros would have been  , or even the ones out of the R32!

Have you actually sat in the ED30 seats?

They are very comfortable and support your torso very well

Can't believe you are thinking of swapping from the R32 though. Why not PM Illyun as he has good experience of swapping between the two.
