They are BBS Split rims. Were an option on the 150PD. need to watch for flaking laquer though.

They replaced them under warranty. No questions. ;D

The wheels on mine are AVUS (or something like that) 15" alloys.

The later models (i.e. 2 litre Mk4 GTIs) had AVUS II 15"ers.  These are similar to mine but with a split down the middle of each spoke.  Are these the ones your talking about?

The wheels you guys are talking about are the BBS RS2's that were a cost option on the PD150 and the 1.8GTi from 2002 onwards. Nice wheels, just shame about the finish of the BBS wheels and cleaning them looks like fun.

there basically the same wheel as the cost option wheel on the mk4 1.8t/pd150.
