Mk4 Turbo 16" Alloys
« on: 11 March 2004, 23:13 »
What year did these first appear on?

I'm looking at maybe buying a 150Bhp mk4 next year, but i WANT one with those 16" alloys.

Ive seen sum older ones with the 2.0 wheels... and i HATE those wheels and I dont wanna fork out ?1000 for alloys when i can have a newer car and pay ?500 and get those wheels with it!

So what reg did they start on... anyone know?

i *think* the 16" montreal I's were on 1.8T's from '98... with the montreal II's following a couple of years later.

Not sure exactly what you're asking black - The turbo has always had 16" wheels as std.

Montreal 1's were from launch to 2000. These are the flat five spoke jobbies.

Montreal 2's were then made standard from 2000 onwards. These are what is fitted to mine (see gallery).

Don't let that sway your car buying, as they're always available on ebay. Buy the right car and change the wheels if necessary

The greatest leveller of them all - the Carousel
