Subject: RE: Citi 1.8i

There is one other question I would like to ask. (I may have many questions, I spend a lot of time on GolfGTIForum.co.uk and enjoy helping out)
What is the average temperature a new MK5 GTI should run at? We have an owner on the forum who states that his runs at 90 degrees and when he switches the vehicle off a small amount of steam comes out the bonnet. Any advice you can give?

Michael

90 degrees is the correct operating temperature, I have not heard of anything like that,
so referring him to dealer would be a good idea, they should do a fault diagnosis on the vehicle.

I don't think steam coming out the bonnet is a good sign, unless it's a steam driven car!
