2.0 Gti(W-2000) vs 1.9Tdi(03)

Ive got the Gti my sis has the Tdi, we both think our own is better. What do you guys think? And which is quicker? I know the Gti has 115bhp not too sure about the Tdi.

the 2.0 gti is not quicker that much.... the TDI will have the toruq to beat you off the line and more than likely beat you over all..... sorry mate, sell it for a 1.8T

I really would love to go for the 1.8t either Golf or A3 but cant at the mo due to insurance purposes. The turbo in it just raises the price unbeleivably. Stick with this for a year then will prob upgrade to the 1.8t.

Im not into diesels though i really wish i was, as id be getting 400+ miles out of a tank rather than the 300 or so i get in mine, its just that diesels dont do it for me.

Dont know what it is just feel the quality of driving a petrol is a lot more satisfying than a diesel, is this just me being wierd?!!

I agree with you mate, the mk4 golf gti is an great looking car regardless of engine size or shape, im an old 29 so i dont have to much problems and from insurance point of view you have a great car.. GTI  on the diesel front my old man has the Cupra FR thing and its a great car i like the grunt from it and the MPG, the 1.8t's are a bit of a mare, ive had my one tuned to 210bhp and the MPG's not changed that much to be honest but i can now hand the cuupra FRs arse on a plate, good luck with your golf dude they are cool, wish id had one sooner......

The 2.0 gti 8v id say it was slower vs the tdi. All i am gonna say is tdi rules. Have that power to beat most cars and the mpg is amazing.

Also low tax cant go wrong.

Dont agree with diesel being the way forward, id never go for a TDI but would defo have the GT TDI any day.

If its a 110 TDI you will win because theres hardly anything in it and shes a woman who probably cant drive properly

I am a petrol head but disagree, diesel i beleve is the future, petrol isnt growing in fields.... and have you read what you wrote haha id never go for a TDI but would defo have the GT TDI any day eh?? the GTTDI's are just TDI's in europe, Highline anyone lol, TDIs are great motors any BHP....
