I thought I would introduce myself I've had my 8v 115 bhp mark 4 GTI since the end of July
, she was born in January 2001 and has 58k on the clock, she is my second Golf the first being a mark 2 Driver which was a pig. My Dad swears by VW and is on his 5th Scirocco so I have come back to the VW badge having owned several blue ovals, the last one was a heavily modified Focus which died on the M62
, the crash barrier won after aqua planning but car did it's job and driver plus passengers walked away

I've checked out some articles on the forum as she is fast approaching the cambelt change and I've read about changing the water pump, is there anything else I should be aware of?
She has the seemingly standard knocking from the front end (anti roll bar bushes) and engine warning light (temp sensor) issues but everything else seems OK.
I have plans for the old girl upgraded alloys, 15" wheels are just too small, window tints, anniversary body kit or getting the lower parts of the bumper colour coded and lowering. I'm not going too far this time as I'm still fighting with the insurance as too how much my old car was worth. The money they have offered wouldn't even by a standard Focus of the same age and condition and I had specialist insurance
