Roof strips
« on: 26 October 2007, 10:50 »
I am preparing my G60 for paint. Is it possible to remove the black roof strips without damaging them? I tried removing one yesterday from a car in the scrapyard, and I just bent it beyond recognition, although it did come off. There is nothing in my Haynes about them.

there is a technique....

start at the door opennings and pull the lower edge up and out, working back and forth until its all sitting proud. then start at the rear and pull upwards as gently but firmly as you can, once the first clip come off its easy. its when you don't pull the lower lip out that things start to bend.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post
