all the time, also use autoglym engine cleaner for other metals which gunk isnt as good on, and cilic bang is wicked too..

i tried cillit bang for engine cleaning, didnt do owt, got some floor cleaner from work (yellow alkaline stuff, proper strong) sprayed it all over, let it soak 5 mins and sprayed it off with a hose, good sh!t  so strong it foams up on ali, ace stuff

gotta be careful tho as more than 5 mins id imagine it'd start eating away at the paintwork lol :undecided:

Not got a golf yet! did have a 1.6 driver plan to have another project car soon ;)

theirs a few diff types of cilic bang, 1 of them does work, but as i said before i use Gunk, autoglym engine cleaner and WD40

use gunk brush on aswell as spray

another good one is Liquid sandpaper from B&Q, hard work but is good for certain things :)

Personaly I use Jizer, if I've a lot of thick crap to get off I mix it 50/50 with generic turps substitute to make it go a bit further. Great stuff. got a bunch of dish brushes and paint brushes from the £1 shop to help. Don't clean them when you're done just chuck them.

I recently did the wheels on my Impreza which had not seen a wash for over 4 months with Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner. Brought them up to new. Just don't use it on painted surfaces !!
