Ronal LS
« on: 22 October 2007, 22:02 »
right then my little ping pong tiddelies!

My lovely lady has a mk2 1.8 driver with set of ronal LS's on. Car is running standard original shocks and i have a few questions:

1) she needs some new tyres, currently running 195/45/15's. I'm sure these wheels are 7.5J so does that mean it should really have 205 tyres? They do have a bit of a stretch on em so i'm hoping if they're a bit wider it might protect em from those pesky kerbs that keep jumping out and biting the wheels!

2) The car needs lowering, but i dont wanna go to low. Whats the best solution to get it a bit lower? I dont want the ride to be to harsh as it's her daily driver and not silly low, i was thinking about 25 mm????

if it was me i'd stick with the tyres you have, or at most go 195/50/15. and 35-40mm drop is easy and comfortable enough to live with daily.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

Agreed, I've wide wheels and a 40mm drop, you may have to roll the arches though, but that's not as scary as it sounds.

195/50 sounds like a good plan. She's not to fussed about flying round like a go kart just looking good   Gonna have a hunt about for some decent suspension now

Sure you dont just wanna sell me your wheel instead!!!! Beware some lowering kits I fitted -40 weitec which is comfortable as fook! but order front lowering spring caps at the same time as some kits leave your nose pointing skyward!

K-Jet is my friend!

I had these alloys with 195x50x15 tyres & they rubbed like f**k on standard arches on -40mm suspension .

Wished id gone for 195x45x15 tyre option.

You have been warned !!!!!!
