tuning update!
« on: 22 October 2007, 14:20 »
after my trip to awesome 3 months ago, thought i'd give you an update...

the apr remap is fully settled and the car is suprisingly fast...no timings but it keeps up with pretty much everything and pulls like a train from 80 to 150 no problem. you have to run it on super unleaded though otherwise it sometimes spits its dummy out.

milltek cat back is off....after some debate i took it off to see the difference in real terms once bedded in and i am please to say it has barely affect the performance and now just glides along in silence.....cat back non res for sale if anyone fancies it...£300 quid...done 3000 miles and coked in nicely..if you like a bit of a rasp, then this is for you.

the eibach prostreet coilovers(kw variant 1 for all intents and purposes) are simply excellent..the car sits slightly lower but not massively so, the ride is pretty much stock like and the handling is immense...best 600 quid i've ever spent on a car, and i highly recommend them to anyone.

if anyone wants the exhaust, pm me in the first instance

Sounds good mate.

What you mean by spist the dummy out? Im pretty sure they map them to run on 97 - 99 Ron so you would be a fool not to use it on a remapped car.

Glad to hear its all gone well :)

im getting old in the tuning game, a cat back makes a car sound fantastic, but as for adding bhp one hasnt been made for any car ever. im having 3" downpipe and 100cell sportcat fitted on friday i expect a 10bhp gain even though im told it will be 18bhp, but a cat back gives you nothing, think about it how could it, sure makes a better sound if thats your thing though.
black ED30, ipod, tints, armrest, superchips ecu upgrade. very good looking. manchester united season ticket holder since 1984, been to over 40 european away games.

Hi Jonathon (I'm also a former bm3w forum poster )

Glad you like the upgrade.
Did you get the switchable version via the cruise control stalks.
I am still undecided about the chip I plan to get tbh.

no switchable..just standard map, with higher octane setting...

its great!

runs crap on the 95 ron stuff so i stay clear...

the coilovers are absolutely sh!t hot..awesome supplied and fitted them, and they really are fantastic.

really set the car off....

go do it...now!
