Couple of questions
« on: 21 October 2007, 22:59 »
(I have read the manual and I'm not dyslexic)

I've seen some of you discussing Launch Control and read about it in the manual, what exactly does it do?

How do you switch S on. Is it a button you press?

Does driving in DSG mode lead to a better MPG than if you drive in manual?

I have heated wing mirror and rear activated wing mirror but I don't think they fold in. What does the fold in button look like?

By the way I've seen some good R32's around. I know some of you guys think that DBP is a good colour but I saw one in Grey (Graphite!) looked pretty good.

Cheers guys.

Do you have DSG?  'S' refers to Sport mode as opposed to 'D' which is Normal Drive Mode and can be selected using the gearstick.  Not sure about the MPG but VW says DSG is more economical - probably because you are in 6th gear at 35mph!

By the way a DBP R32 is

yeah i got dsg but my question is if you use it in manual mode, is it more economical? i know it would depend how you drove it............

i found yes it is more economical in manual, and the main reason is its not always the best to drive in 6th gear doing 30mph around town because you will unknowinginly pressing the accelator pedal with the need to, and that 4th-5th will cruise better and not load the engine as much. Also try not to use aircon all the time as that will increase your mpg by as much as  mpg!.

The fold in mirrors are operated using the mirror adjuster. There is an extra position to turn it to which folds them in

Launch control

set ESP to off
Drop the gearstick down to S
Keep left foot on brake
Depress accellerator pedal (it will settle revs around 3200)
Lift foot off brake

HOLD ON!
