what about them citi golfs then?

hey every one, ive had air cooled v dubs since passing my test and the times come for a water cooled daily. ive pretty much come to the conclusion that im gunna get a south african 1.8 citi golf imported and was wandering if anyone has one and what they had to do to make it meet uk saftey regs. also how different are they com[pared to the original. i know the grils different and its obviously a five door but when it comes to slamming the f**k out of her  will standard mk1 lowering springs do the job?? cheers

yeh it aint gunna be cheap (£8000 for the car plus £1000 to import it plus £1000 for springs and rims) so £10,000 but for a brand new 0 mile car thats gunna last me 10 years of daily driving aint too bad, oh and its a mk1 golf......kind of

They are cool little cars..my b/f as mentioned, tomo320, loves them..he put a 2.0l bottom on or something and some other tricks and I swear it used to fly! Loved that car! :sad:
The kits on them are quite heavy and they can suffer from carb freeze in the winter but thats easily solved..I don't really know that much about them..

They do 1.8's??? I only ever seen the 1600's. And yes. For 1600's they move. They rather quick.

South Africa does Caddies too. But from my side. Why not wait a few months until the .:R-line Citi Golf comes out? I think it gets a 2 litre engine and a wide variety of mods. If you want more info let me know. I can get you some.

yeh man they do a 1.8i last i heard theyve already made the "r" model, they only made 100 and there all gone..... :sick:
