BRAKE CALIPER PAINT

Hello

Need to paint my calipers on my anniversary back to bright red as they are totally fading. Anyone bought any recently? whare can i get it from etc. I found a few company's charging £30!!! Anywhere cheaper?

depends if you want primary colours. halfords.
If you want an odd colour you can mix Hammerite!

DONT buy the £20+ kits.. All you need is some red engine laquer, i did mine last week bought it from Motorworld for less than a fiver!

mines painted with the tin af aero left over from my last golf.... lasts ok if you ensure they are clean before applying

I was thinking of doing this to mine, do you need to take the caliper apart to paint or can you do it just by removing the wheel and painting while on the car?

All i did was remove the wheel, then give it a good brushing with a wire brush to remove all loose crap then cleaned it with some thinners, when its dried give a good coating of engine laquer.
TIP: let it drive over night before driving!

Thankyou all for the advice, i will use the engine laquer i think. They are looking a bit tatty now on my anniversary and i am planning to sell it next month and wanted it tidied up a bit, great advice from you all thankyou.

forget everything and use hammerite.

its by far the best and longest lasting

you can get it in all colours

did mine in blue on my other car years ago, still look new

and more recently did my golf ones black..

and all the rusty bits on the brake discs on the inside :)
