HELP - VW Golf M II (1987)
« on: 17 October 2007, 09:38 »
Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum, so I am not sure how and where to post such topics. I hope I will learn more about the site soon.

Have just bought a VW Golf M-II (1987), 1.3l petrol, it is a 2-door (not a GTi). Any other owner of this model here? or anyone with any knowledge about this car? I really need lot of help.

Have lot of questions about this car , but first could anyone help me by telling me a website, or providing me a manual with parts number mentioned it. I need few parts for this car, like carb. jets, suspension bushes, door handle & locks etc.

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon.

Thank you very much for a very useful link. I guess it will solve lot of my problems.

About the problems with my car... well there are lot for you to solve

Main problem I am from Pakistan, and here Golf is a rare thing. Lots of Beetles but no Golf (basically market is captured by the Japanese cars).

I have bought this Golf M II, 1987, 1.3L petrol, 2 door. Body wise car is ok, engine is somewhat weak but will survive for some year(s). As I said there are only few Golfs here so I guess I need to ask someone coming from UK to get few parts for me.

What I need is carburetor jet kit, or even maybe the whole carburetor, suspension bushes, door handles & locks, temp. gauge, thermostat switch. And for that I need to give them exact part number.

Talking about the problem, well starting in the morning is pretty tough, one has to synchronise pumping of accelerator with the ignition key...only this way it works. But this problem is only in the morning the whole day it works fine. According to my mechanic this i because of the carburetor jet(s).Also, fuel consumption is very high around 6km/l. Again according to mechanic it is because of the jets (slow jet is out of order). By the way any idea whats the average consumption of such a car?

Needs suspension bushes, because its been 20 years now...

See I have lots of problem, that’s why I have joined this forum, need help from all of you
