tracking
« on: 07 March 2004, 23:28 »
Hi I first took my car into one of them tyre places to get tracked and they said they couldnt do it because i had the car lowered.  So i went to another garage and they had the same equipment, they said it wasn't a problem.  So they tracked it and i had to take it back because the tracking was out.  4 returns later, the tracking is still bugared, i daren't take it back to them another time.  I wa sjust wondering if anyone else was having any similar problems or not?

no shouldnt have any problems with tracking... alls they do is ajust the tie rod ends this moves the wheel in or out.... they arnt doing it right for it to be off....

note that the  steering wheel must be centre when they check the alinment sometimes the tracking can be bang on and to make the car travel straight the steering wheel may be either to the left or to the right slightly..... if this is the problem and they say the tracking is bang on ie both wheels are perfectly paralell then just make a note of where the wheel is when your going in a straight line and then take it off and place it on straight .......

if it isnt right and the garage is arguing take it elsewhere.......

never had any trouble with mine......
