Not as good as my nova it also has 16v calipers all round but hopefully with the new master cylinder it will be better.

waaaaaaaaaait...

before you go wasting money here there and everywhere...

get a FULL spec of everything done by the previous owner...

if theyve done all that to the brakes i highly doubt theyve overlooked the 16v servo and 22 MC upgrade.

What i would do i check the condition of the discs/pads all round. replace as neccessary

check handbrake cable, adjust as neccessary.

change brake fluid and bleed fully.

if you dont have braided hoses on the front/rear discs id highly suggest getting hold of a goodridge kit (6 line for the inclusion of rear discs) from gsf or ebay.

after all that, you can either upgrade (if the previous owner didnt) to a 16v Servo (get second hand, new units at ECP are listed at 150 odd quid) and a brand new 22mm master cylinder from a mk2 16v or g60 or 16v passat.

youll need to bear a couple of other points such as clevis pin and tee pieces if doing the 16v servo/22mc swap so do your research before

and goood luck :)

only one t piece is needed if you buy the g60 master cylinder as it has 4 ports to start with as opposed to 2 on the stock 16v. 1 t piece for the brake light switch.

reet,

go to gsf

grab hold of a g60 master cylinder and brand new handbrake cable (just for good measure its not neccessary but im not sure if adjusting by two clicks you meant the handy b cable) from GSF or Euro Car Parts.

Grab a 16v Servo from a scrappers, off any broken g60 or 16v mk2, failing that ask around on the forums or on ebay.

You will need a reservoir for the master cylinder as your existing mk1 one wont fit, im not sure if its supplied with the new master cylinder. you can get flat ones off an audi which would come in handy if you later go on to do a 16v conversion as it wont foul the dizzy, failing that get one of the car you grab the servo from. (you might as well nab that master cylinder too as youll be taking it out with the servo, stick it on the forums for some beer pennies)

check out this guide for info about the conversion

check out this guide for the clevis pin change
