Serious question about brake discs
« on: 11 October 2007, 15:42 »
I've noticed my brake discs on 6 month old car are showing a bit of rust.

Is this normal? I have seen this on others cars but maybe slightly older.

What can I do to prevent it?

are you saying it's rusty when it rains and then clears up or is rusty because of the rain

it would figure the rain is causing it but my question is what's the end point, where does it all lead

how much is it gonna cost me

yeah brake discs noramlly start to show "rust" at just the thought of getting wet, this is becuase its exposed metal.

you'll find that you'll get "rust" from just washing the car.

the "rust" disappears after you've driven the car though doesn't it?

the rust will dissapear once you drive and press the brake, or do you mean on the top of the brakes and not the face??

it's not the brake itself but the part just inside the alloys

it's all metal...............
