It's not supposed to be like this, it's a Golf for gods sake. VW built their brand on quality built cars not this sh!t.

And they charge for it to.

My car is a month old and both doors rattle all of the time so does the dashboard from deep, deep within and there are other random rattles depending on the road surface. Even the bloody engine rattles.

VW have the nerve to show that advert with the muppet and his partner with the creaky earring as if it is inconcievable that the car could have a rattle.

The only thing that doesn't rattle in my car is my wifes bloody earrings.

My door seals creak when I go round a corner and there are sometimes numerous rattles depending on surface and if theres a full moon. I'm dissapointed but I'm used to it after haveing a BMW that sounded like a bag of nails.

The speaker on the drivers door rattles all the time - there is also a rattle under the steering column dependent on road surface. Both of these items have been looked at by the dealer - the door was tempoaraly fixed - the couling was broken and replaced but still the rattle. Now the sunroof rattles when tilted. I agree if i were to expect rattles i could have saved 4k and gone for a Renualt. Its a pain in the ar#e!!!!!

Yep my R32 rattles and creaks. Its a massive problem throughout the MK5 Golf range. My GT TDI was the same. Only reason I can put up with it is I have the radio on all the time or windows down listening to the V6

But I agree, for VW standards its not on especially in the flagship GTI/ED30/R32 models.

yeah i have a similar thing but they all do it

i have some mk5 bog standard vw at work, i might ask the drivers if they have the same problem

i haven't heard anything

i think the gti and above are made slightly differently, parts etc for braking etc but i agree

sometimes it feels like i'm going to turn into fred flintstone and start running with the car around my waist

however, when i put me foot down, all is forgotten............

I could have bought a good, brand new hot hatch for $20,000 less than this Golf and suffered less rattles too!

This is my 5th new car in as many years and none have rattled like this and no other manufacturer has claimed such a "rattle free" experience in their advertising either.

I keep reading that there are big rattle issues with MK5's and then I read threads where people take them in to their dealer to get fixed and they either lose their car for days at a time or they get it back damaged/thrashed or no better than when it went in!!!

What would you do?
