Need some advice
« on: 07 March 2004, 04:09 »
Hey to all - hope you don't mind giving a newbie some help over here :)

After much looking around, I'm looking at getting a 3 door Golf Mk2 16v Gti - only trouble is I've no idea what age I should be looking at. Is there anything i'll need to consider regarding age - eg. difficulties with certain modifications, known problems/issues, or things I should be looking to avoid etc...

Any help would be gladly appreciated :)

Good stuff, thanks for the link :)

I'm looking at the best part of ?2000, got a budget of ?3000 but theres stuff like security and ICE that I'm trying to include in that figure. I'm guessing a 1.6 is the way to go, right?

Gti's only came in 1.8 form for both 8 and 16v, the only 1.6 gti was the original mk1!

1.6 mk 2's are carburettor generally
