Whats my Cabbie worth???????

Been trying to sell my Cabbie for ages, due to upcoming wedding and the missus wanting a new car, check out the pics on my website

Its 1 previous owner from new, excellent condition, full mot, 6 mths tax 152k,new roof etc etc etc

Ive got it up for about 1595 ono, whats the problem, time of year etc. or should i bite the bullet and stick it in autotrader. IVe just done the vw forums so far

I dont think thats too much money at all, but I already told u that!  yeh it is the wrong time of year, but that shouldnt really prevent a sale cos the cars in such good nic.
problem is although you've done the forums and e bay its only a small minority compared to those that buy the autotrader when looking to buy a car.

if your desperate to get shot of it then thats the way to go.

?1500???  that seems a little too much for a car that old.

I cant see me getting much more than ?2500 for mine and its a 1997 model and its mint too.

I think an enthusiast would pay ?1500 but... i dont think its worth that much..

(Notice the "I" dont think its worth that much.. this is MY opinion... and its based losely on Glass's guide, Parkers and my sister-in-law whos a car saleswoman for VW)

I didnt think parkers or glass's guide covered cars that old myself. I know ?1500 is a good value ballpark for my car, maybe more in the summer as its pretty mint condition, but im new to the golf scene so im just going from what ive seen other cars go for recently, just after some opinions..........after all how many one previous owner mk1 golf cabs do you know of...not many i would guess.....

scott has a severe case of 'the newer the better'  . its contagious but u can immunise by buying a mark1 or 2. The fun they give far out weighs the benefits of a newer model.
