Bonnet hinges...

Removed a bonnet hinge from a Mk2 i broke a while back. On the hinge, there is a hook on it. What is this for as my other mk2s haven't got it!

if its the hook im thinking of then it holds the bonnet down till you release it.

like if your driving and the bonnet hinge lets go. the hook will stop the bonnet from flying up
