Alarm/interior sensors not working!
« on: 03 October 2007, 20:38 »
Well i've had my car for 10 months now and thought i'd best try out the alarm!

So I locked myself in, making sure i hadnt disabled interior monitoring. Waited about 3 minutes and started waving around. And the alarm didnt go off!

i tried releasing the bonnet and as soon as i popped it the alarm went off

How can i try and fix this? i only want to take it to VW as a last resort

I think the interior sensors are on the rear view mirror ( just below it )  Might be worth giving the unit a wipe and trying again.

Thanks the The Reflex.. I think these are the anti dazzle sensors but will give em a wipe over anyway.

I think the interior motion sensors is the block just above the passenger door

AS far as I know the sensors are above the passenger door and work rather well.
Why not try leaving a window open. Locking the car and then sticking your hand into the window and see what happens?

Possibly when locking the car the sensors are picking up someone is there and disabling it? Perhaps it thinks you a dog?  (JUST JOKES)

I would give that a try. If it goes off then bobs you uncle and sallies you aunt.

Are you sure that the interior sensor hasn't been deactivated. There is a button down by the side of the main pillar that activates/deactivates the interior sensors for when you leave a pet in.....or some mad person waving their hands around
