hi guys
thanks for the friendly welcome and for the nice comments about the MK3

the car is fairly tidy but I will be seeking advice on paint work especially... it's completely knackered. Unfortunately the previous owner decided the best thing for scratches was paint stick so every panel has been attacked in a fit of paint stick rage... also has scratches and stone chips although most of that should come out with a polisher. thinners hasn't been able to take any paintstick off so I am looking for a solution and not quite sure what to do at the moment... don't really want to go down the respray route as it could turn out to be a disaster... but at the same time don't want to end up with a patchwork quilt of blends

it was improved with a couple of good meguiars 'clayings' and have been at it with scratch x but really need to take a RP to it and have been waiting for the UDM but might have to opt for something else! it's taken a couple of months really hard work over the summer detailing at weekends to get it clean and tidy and to this stage but want to get it near perfect
as well as the paintwork I want to crystal all the lights, eventually get new rims as the mk4 ones I popped on there are only intended as an interim, and then get a complete SS exhaust system... eventually I'd love to get this interior
http://www.mjinteriors.co.uk/photos/gallery_06.jpg as i think it would go sweeeet with the paintwork

I will be seeking advice on all of these when I get around to doing them... and of course keeping you all updated where I can.
the overall effect that i am looking to achieve is fairly much standard and as clean as possible with a couple of added extras
I like what you've all done with your golf's... some very nice work going on there!
