By the way, dont be mistaking my car for a sh*ty 8v!. I used to rape mk2 and mk3 8valvers in my XR2 all the time and my XR was slow compared to my 16V! What do you drive again?

stop talking tosh.

XR2 was freebie in a packet of Corn Flakes

The power on a 16v doesent really kick in till 4,000rpm and continues up till 7,000. Between 4 and 7 is when u start to pull away from cars, especially in 3rd (105mph at 7,000).

yup yup can vouch for that..  once u learn to keep the revs up you can maintain that all the time :D

(yes i do get through a lot of fuel... )

XR2's have 100bhp and are quite light. They are as fast as XR3i's upto 100mph you know! There not as fast round corners as the mk2 or mk3 8v granted (about 5mph slower), but with me driving any loss on corners was made up by my braking, input and exit speeds!

I raced the car in aug 2003, 1 mth after i bought my car (July stupid!) and the car was a silver 01 reg turbo. I remember this as it was the first race i had in my 16V.

My mate had an XR3i and said it was sooo overhyped and sh!t at cornering.

If u want a ford, then get a Cossie, Focus or new shape Mondeo.

Cossie for its speed
Focus for its handling
Mondeo cos its supposed to be a great handling family saloon car.
