There's a new car on my drive where my Mk4 1.8T used to be:    :grin:



It was the eleventh car I looked at and I love it!!! Its by no means "mint", but the [many] little jobs that need doing are hopefully reasonably simple.

Its an Atlas Grey '91 16v with all the usual gizmo's plus leccy mirrors. Its currently completely standard, which is the way I intend to keep it, although I wouldn't mind a fruitier exhaust and some better (but subtle) ICE.

I've done 200 miles in it in two days (144,000 on the clock) and first impressions are excellent. I think its as fast as the 1.8T up to 60mph, but after that the Mk4 would prob start outpacing it. But its the handling that Im most impressed with - In short, roundabouts have never been this much fun!

Cheers. Its a terrible pic though - its gone really dark here this afternoon. Will get a better one when its sunny!

Hehe... The other half is kinda quiet about the whole thing. She just keeps looking at me in a "bemused" kind of way. Plus she keeps asking if I've got me RAC card in my wallet.


Might take her out in it later and see what she thinks.

Hehe, its strange but I had some mates keeping an eye out for Mk2's for sale and they all asked me do I want a 3 or 5 door  -  I hadn't even thought about it !

In honesty, I think the 3 doors look better, but the 5 doors still look good (especially in darker colours) plus Im enjoying the nice and easy exit/entry (oo er missus) in car parks after the behemoth Mk4 doors (based on the gates of Mordor).

LOL... I drove it to work for the first time this morning and got all giddy. I've even parked it where I can see it (and show random people that come to my desk)

Gonna do some cool photos of the Mk4 and Mk2 together before I sell the Mk4 - Its a jazz blue and will look a mint contrast to the atlas grey. Can't wait for the weekend.
