Newbie.

Hi all.

I'm here on a big read up :) i'm thinking about buying a Mk2 Golf GTI and am after lots of Information.

I have had lots of Quick cars in the past and i currently own a 450hp Rx7 (94 twin Turbo) which is more of a Track car in this day and age (Very loud, attracts all the wrong attention and does about 2 gallons per mile ;))

So i'm looking for something thats not too bad on Juice (high twenty's or up would be great) and nice looking, So thats where the Mk 2 comes in, I'm not 100% sure what Model i want (8v or 16v) but i do like the newer Interea so i'm proberly looking at the later ones.

I have owned one before (about ten years ago) but my Memory of it is vague, Unfortunately it was Written off whilst parked out side a mates house :(

Does anyone know of any good Buyers guides? or On line Specs for the Mk2 Gti's?

Thanks
Chris

Thanks all

After quite allot of reading on the matter i think i'm going after a mk2 16v, i was thinking of getting an 8v because the insurance and fuel would be a bit cheaper but looking at the cars for sale at the minute 2k will get me a nice 16v, so after driving a poor example this morning i think i have the GTI bug :)
