GTI 16v Copper brake lines - help

My car has been for its MOT and needs 2 things doing to it. Its a 16v GTI (original disks at the front and back)

1. New brake pressure regulator
2. New copper brake lines at the back of the car (at least I think they are copper)

I've seen the brake pressure regulator's for sale on the internet so it shouldn't be a problem getting a replacement.
But is it just a case of re-fitting it or does it need adjustment / setting up?

I have been looking around for the brake lines and nobody seems to stock pre-shaped ready to fit replacement's.
Does anybody know where I can buy these?

If you know the total legnth of the pipe, then you can get them made to size, then bend them to shape during fitting. Its quite easy. Bend the piped in as wide a radius you can, bending them round your thumbs with your fingers. To tight a radius will knacker the pipe should you kink it. Also, with very tight bends, the copper tends to work harded making it very brittle. Just a little time and care, and you won´t find it too much of a problem.

This company has been around since I was a kid. I've used them for MKI's and MKII's very good stuff.
Copper lines are soft enough to manipulate around firewalls and underbellys of the Golf making it easier to change out old brake pipes.
They should do a kit for the MKII which is pre measured for exact fitment.

I bought a kit and made my own, saved loads of money and was quite fun. As for bending to get in shape I can highly recomend using household objects of the right radius. Mugs, pots, hammer handles, whatever should give you the right curve needed. This way you get a smooth curve and no chance of slipping and kinking.

One further question. The pipe layout on right and left hand drive cars - is it the same?

I own a left hooker as I live in Spain. There will be differences as the servo, and therefore the master cylinder are on the opposite sides. As for the rear of the car, I don't know. I guess they would be the same. But this is only a guess.

As for left hookers the servo or master cyn is on the right side, its the right hookers that are wrong as its UK spec . All I know is that right hookers seem to have longer pipes as the cyn is further, but I'm sure the extra length is only on the firewall side to sevo. really should not be a problem if you state if your after left or right?
