Some pics for you guys
« on: 19 September 2007, 13:41 »
Hey all.

As said in my other post a few days ago our GTI has just been cleaned etc. I promised pics so here goes.

I also mentioned that something/someone had scratched the front bumper of the GTI. Is there any way we could fix this?

Its a bit nasty and has ruined almost every other pic i took of the cars front end.

Thanks guys

You can try a cutting compound from a paint supplier, but by the look of that you'll still have some deep scratches but it should improve it a fair bit. I've got some at home just can't remember the brand. Probably a Menzerna or something like that.

Not entirely sure how the scratch got there. I assume someone hit the car with a trolley but my mom always parks her car kilometres away from everything.

I don't think I would try cutting compuond as it would end up fading as it is plastic :undecided: Some guys use good old boot polish as it fills and polishes

Thanks hurdy. Will give that a try the next time I clean her. I read that using sho polish on the back bumper and skirts is also very good and shines for ages but i have not had the guts to try it...

It's far better than that silicone rubbish. Just makes the bumper sticky and you end up having to clean it more often
