???

Forgive me for having the NERVE to answer a question on this forum in a semi serious fashion, and actually give a point of view and a little bit of help.

Heavens forbid that I ever do anything like that again.

I shall remeber that in future i will respond to the following requests for help with the following answers:

Q: My Golf keeps stalling?
A: Buy yourself a new one, its probably terminal  :P

Q: Do these wheels look good?
A: no mate, they looking f*cking awful  ;D

Q: Does anyone know where i can get a repray as I've accidently scratched my car?
A: Scrap it mate - why repair it when you can buy a new car?  :D

Q: Should i buy an 8v or 16v? I really want a fast car...
A: neither mate, go buy a second hand Elise  8)

So, after your refreshing "slap down", you will find that i do have a life, and that my participation on this forum is to help and have fun.

Obviously, i'm not allowed to help, and I expect you to start following up on every other "helpful" person on this forum, who does not live up to your standards of "light heartedness", "jest" and any other adjective that you can think of that inspires a smile.

Please remember the following things to tell helpful people - "go and get yourself a life!!!! :P".

Feel free to post a lists of offenders. Together, we shall clear this forum of anyone deemed helpful. The B*stards. For you, have shown me the errors of my ways!

I suggest that to start with you post a quick message to VR6. Very occasionally he says something interesting and helpful, banish him - for he is a HELPFUL person.

Also, richandhazel - he too is helpful. What is truly disgraceful is that his post are not only interesting - but i have occasionally learnt something from him. Quick, start a poll and ask jv to ban him. Good idea, i'll second you.

We can also promote Golfgal to be our queen - she never says anything helpful. We could worship her, for after 1500 posts - absolutely nothing of interest has been typed by her.

Tin

BTW apologies to Golfgal. I'm not taking the rise out of you or anyone else. I'm not going to be slandered for writing an interesting response to a post. We all participate in this forum for our own reasons, and we are all equal.

But obviously, if you are using sarcasm, please make sure you include lots of smilies like this:

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :P :P :P

See, completely meaningless, but it seems to pacify some of the locals  ???

All this 'do as I say or else' nonsense has gorra stop, fella. Here's ya choices as I see it......

i)  Get a job playing a hen-pecked sap in a soap opera
(a la Steve Mcdonut in Coronation Street) :(

ii)  Sell the Golf and be the laughing stock of family and friends ;D

SORRY TO HAVE JOINED DEBATE A BIT LATE IN THE DAY.
Do not get rid of the car!
Either - 1) Change girlfriend, they're easy to come buy
and you might find one that is into the car
aswell. My wife is as big a Golf anorak as me
we got rid of our cavalier and have 2 mod'd
                 mk2's.
             2) Let her know that my 16v was hit at speed
in the side by a mercedes sprinter van my
baby son was in the car and was fine and
the mercedes van was worse than my car.
             3) Just tell her to SHUT IT and that you know
what you are talking about, you don't tell
her about ford ka's ad saxo's do you? so
why can she be telling you about golf gti's.
