Ed 30 - Timescales
« on: 14 September 2007, 10:56 »
Just a quick question on deliveries - I have an Ed 30 on order and was just wondering how long before delivery date the stealer will let me know what said delivery date will be?

I am selling my own car privately and was hoping that he will give me plenty warning

Hurdy - I ordered mine in July so I have already waited 8 weeks with the prospect of it being another 6 weeks or so 16 weeks is a distinct possibility   But I am patient and have read some many good things on here about the Ed 30 that I am sure my patience will be rewarded.

K4ith - I have ordered mine from VW next to Fort Kinnaird.  Did try calling them yesterday but shock horror they never called me back, I just know that the date he told me of middle of Oct is never going to materialise as the last time I spoke with him he was rambling on about slow build times and that he couldn't even get a Golf Match with a 6-7 week build on it.

Basically they are full of sh1t and I can't wait till I get my car and don't have to deal with them again

I used Kinnaird when i bought my MK4 GTi, I called them this time but the sales woman couldn't get me a test drive in an ED30, even though their sister branch in Gorgie had 2, so i thought if they cant be assed then look else where, the guy in Gorgie Western was very helpfull so they got my business.

Only moved to Embra a year ago and so I didn't realise there were two VW garages!!!  We live in Portobello so had driven past the Kinnard garage a few times so thought that that would be the one we went too when ordering.

Guy seems OK and it is not his fault that the car isn't available but I just wish that they tell you exactly when it is coming without all the half truth's
