that "looks" good but some of the mods are pointless and probably more harm than good eg;

induction kit, the plug in chip, dump valve wtf there is no point having a dump valve  :undecided:

most of the VAG option look to have been added after market for example the xenons, the car should have headlight washer jets, and the bigger washer tank.  given that its had lots of aftermarket mods i'd check if those are genuine VAG santa monica's as those could be cheap imitations too

if you're still interested then find out which version it is, 90bhp or 100bhp too

also its due an 80K service in 2K which you'll be looking at around £200

personally i'd walk away, although you choice is going to be limited if you're after an auto.  the way i see it is, its better to wait than to rush and get a car you're not sure about.  like you say its a little older than you wanted

Cheers Ridge, those were the kinda thought's i was having about the dump valve  :undecided: i'd searched on here about them  and read about how pointless they are!!
Limited isn't the word!!  funny how you can buy a V5 in auto wich is 170bhp but can't get a uk spec 130/150 tdi
Have seen this http://www.autoprestigecars.co.uk/details.asp?makedrop=Volkswagen&Submit=Show+Results&cdID=1353931
which is an import  :smug: shame the wheels are so huge.  bit ott of my price range

Pretty sounds advise there from Ridge.

Could you not push the boat out and get a manual? The whole Golf range is oyster then!

just to echo whats been said - walk away from the first one; most of the mods sound like Ebay specials.....

2nd one is nice and you could always change the wheels.  its out of warranty so the fact its an import shouldn't be a problem.

only thing i'd be a bit concerned about is the servicing of the automatic gearbox  :undecided:

That one looks better, but if it is a import then it would have to be jap and i thought their bumper was different.  also i didn't think there was such a car as a GT TDI 130 Auto

EDIT:

if it is a GT TDI 130 Auto then shouldn't it have a front arm rest?

why are you after an auto, is it for medical or convenience issues?

Not sure where it came from, may of been Belgium?
your right about there not being a GT TDI in auto  only the SE  however this is the second GT TDI i've seen, both imports,  :smug:  i've even seen a couple of GTI's in auto too
the other import never had the arm rest either!!

unfortunately cos of medical issues i need an auto.

can the SE version be chipped/mapped?  :smug:

thanks for the advice people...

we belguim is left hand drive so the wheel would be on the otherside.

it could have come from south Africa, Australia or India or jap as they are right hand drive (other RHD countries are available)

maybe the arm rest wasn't standard in the import country  :undecided:

mods wise, as far as i know you would be able to do the same you can with the others, chip bigger turbo, intercooler etc

That price seemed quite high to me too. I paid less than that for my 1999 GT TDI and that was nearly 2 years ago now. Are the prices very much inflated for automatics?
