jetta gti
« on: 11 September 2007, 17:02 »
just found this for sale locally, i have a mk2 1.3, was thinkin of buying this for some bits as its reasonable low mileage as well, same owner since the early 90's and well looked after, would i be able to use everything from this to help me with the engine swap, eg fuel tank lines etc, also would want to put the front end on my golf, is this easy to do? any help much appreciated, also is that a good price, seems ok, like the wheels as well

yer thort it was a bit of a bargain, was thinking of buying it for bits for my golf, as my golf i s black and i could use the front wings, bumper and headlights etc, then put the engine in my 1.3, it has rear discs and was just wondering if the rear beam would fit my golf, anyone?

thanks

Self the golf, keep the jetta, far easier and less time consuming than arsing about with engine swaps.

jettas are cheaper to insure aswell.

I agree, I dont see why you would go through the bother though of putting the front end and running gear from a perfectly sound jetta onto a 1.3 golf, isnt worth the hassle and you may as well just keep the jetta

In my eyes you should never build a car you can buy and you should never break a decent car to start with

(not strictly true, but you should keep the poor jetta, especially with that mileage)

i agree totally, keep the jetta ditch the golf, its only a poverty spec golf after all and no matter how many gti bits you put on it lets face the fact it will never be a gti and will never be worth gti money
