Value of MK2 Gti
« on: 28 February 2004, 12:16 »
I'm going to look at golf Gti MK2 8v, 5 door in the rare oak green colour. The car is the last of the MK2s a 91 J plate and has done around 80,000 miles. The owner claims the car is in A1 condition and has no rust at all. The car has full service history and MOT but has no tax. The only problem is that the car has being sitting  for a while so the battery is flat. The owner wants around ?2800.

?2800 sounds high but then again look at the quality of the car?

?2500 seems alrite for that sort of car?

Cheers Blue Mk2 for your price estimate, ?2500 was a price I had in mind anyway. Two more questions! Is the MK2 8v in oak green rare because untill about 2 months ago I thought the 16v only came in oak green. If you had an 8v or a16v to choose from, which would you choose and why?

16v mate. 8v's like mine are slow to be honest.

Didnt know the oak greens came in 8v so must be rare?

Sure it hasnt had an engine swap ???

;) i have to disagree,i think the pearl grey is rarer and far better to look at,especially when the sun hits it and the hint of mauve shows up,had a '91 8 valve in this colour with 15" BBs's on it and it looked the mutts.......the oak green soes come a VERY close second, but heh that's only my opinion.let us know if you get it. :)

Nope, your all wrong, Black is the best colour to have. It cleans up best and looks great when polished, and at this time of year is warmer (when left in the sun!)
