Help my cars Pissed!
« on: 10 September 2007, 22:03 »
hey guys, im having some issues wonder if anyone might know what it is. The front of my car is sitting lower on one side than it is on the other, and the distance between the wheel and the arch is shorter on the same side, i have coilovers fitted and there only 6 months old, i made sure they were set to the same height on both sides, which they are, and i havnt had any crashes in it so im really stumped as to what it might be

also ive started getting a humming noise when i get above 30, which i assumed was a wheel bearing as it was still there after i dipped the clutch, but there is absolutly no play in the wheels, but i dont know if there connected, anyone got any ideas??

Buggered top mount perhaps, they have been known to collapse?

As for the humming noise, that could be all matter of sorts, have you checked all 4 wheel stations?

No need to whip them out, just pop the bonnet and look at where the mounts are sitting, if one is above the other, it's the higher of the two which is kapoot!

I'd recommend changing them in pairs, and go for the slightly stiffer G60 versions if you're using coilovers.

As for the humming, sometimes your ears can play tricks, no rabbit's out of hats, but sometimes it sounds like the front, but really it's the rear.
