Thanks mate, thats just over the ditch from me!  Any idea what colour the 5 door is?

Also, does anyone know how you can find unregistered new cars in stock at VW? Would I have to talk to VW UK to find out?

Phil,

Any in the dealer network will either be second hand or demo's. You may get the odd pre-reg one, but I doubt there will be many ED30's. I'd be more inclined to go to the dealers and get them to do the donkey work.

Hurdy there are at least 25 USED ed30 floating around various dealers across the uk, search the list yourself, prices start from £21995 upwards to £29000, they are all abused, opps im mean used, you have to put in search criteria of normal GTi and the list of golf gti's including ED30's are in 12 pages of cars available. Why wait 16+ weeks for one, if it has only got a few miles on, the spec your after, and losts its 1st years depreciation, to me thats a NO BRAINER when buying new, because youve kissed away 3k straight away.

SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY LAGERLOUT

Up to you of course

I've got an Ed 30 on order   Not expected to arrive until Nov 07.

The dealer had an Ed 30 demonstrator, which I almost had, but the saving wasn't big enough.  Don't mind waiting 14/16 wks to get exactly what I want & gives me a chance to try and sell current motor rather than take the Stealers P/x offer      Might make enuff to offset cost of buying new
