Edition 30 - German Wheels
« on: 09 September 2007, 22:04 »
Has anybody managed to persuade VW to supply them an Edition 30 with the black german spec 18" Detroit wheels? I've spied them on the German VW website and wished I'd negotiated these into the deal. Any ideas?

cheers
Tony

The only people who have managed to get them over here have bought parallel imports or have ordered the wheels seperately. I haven't heard of anyone in the UK who has bought a UK car and managed to get a deal with the Detroits.

Alternative option is to order the Detroits and sell the Pecara's and hope you don't have to shell out too much extra.

Black Detroit's are standard on ED 30's over here and only one ED 30 (out of a total run of 9 6spd manuals) had the (no cost) optional Pescaras.

Those black rims really spilt opinion and thankfully I've got the one with the Pescaras.
EDITION 30.
I couldn't eat a whole one.

Hi
Thanks for the messages.

The dealer informed me today that I can order them in the UK at £380 a corner - ouch!
That's nearly as much as the MK2 GTI I sold not so long ago!!!

I like the Pec's but they look a nightmare to keep clean.

I wonder if an enterprising German dealer would do a swap for *slightly* less the the €2000!!!

cheers
Tony
