which end? ie where you bolt it to the head or the open end to the exhaust? I'd guess probably for the oxygen sensor for cat

in fact it has 2 holes, one near the engine end plugged with a bolt and the other.

trouble with an exhaust and old cars is that the bolts will probably just shear before they come out of the head. just take it easy, use plenty of heat (oxy/act). i managed to shear a stud on a 2000 Y engine because it was seized.....and you dont want to have to remove the head cos you'll end up spending about £100 in parts alone to do it

use plenty of wd40 or duck oil to undo stuff, if it tight, lube it, leave it a while, then try again repeat till works. Use flank drive sockets(like impact - 6 sides only hex) not 12 point ones less chance to round the nut then. Use slow even pressure or firm tapping on bar to release, knock socket on nut like banging the bolt in with a hammer! - knocking action frees it a touch. Use lots of copper grease on re assembly, then you know it will come off easy if you ever do it again!!!
